the rainbow skirt

Trying to photograph an almost 2 year old standing still is impossible, so these photos were the best I got. Here is Miss M modelling her new rainbow skirt. While shopping at Spotlight a few months back I spotted this rainbow fabric and couldn’t resist, I had to buy it for her! The original plan was to make jeanie pants, but with the summer upon us I decided on a skirt instead.

To make it, I traced one of the skirts we already had, as well as some undies. I wanted to have little undies attached to the skirt for both modesty and hiding the nappy underneath. To make the undies comfy I used 2 lines of shirring around the leg openings.

The skirt was an instant success with the little miss and she pulls it out to wear almost every day. What more could I ask? :)
