Meet Buttons! He is an Amineko Cat made for miss M as a Christmas present. (He is the first of many Amineko cats, I am addicted!). A couple of months ago I saw the book “Hello My Name is Amineko: The Story of a Crafty Crochet Cat” in a bookstore and while I didn’t buy it, I’ve been thinking about the crafty crochet cat ever since. Then I discovered (while reading one of the blogs I follow) that the pattern for the cat was available for free at Ravelry (the pattern author is very kind for making it available)! I got really excited and decided that I had to make one for Maria for Christmas. (Another reason for making it is that she currently has a cat I made out of socks (new socks!) and I don’t really like it and would prefer her to have something cuter instead.) So this is how Buttons came to be.
While he is waiting to meet his new friend (she won’t see him until Christmas), Buttons decided to learn to play the xylophone. He is getting pretty good at it!
Now that I made Buttons, I already started another Amineko for myself. And I’m thinking I would love to have the book as well, so that’s going on my birthday list (hints to family and friends!! ;)).
p.s. Buttons is made from 8ply pink (3.5mm hook) and 12 ply (3mm hook) cream yarn and is approximately 29 cm (11.5 inches) tall.
Buttons is gorgeous! You better watch out. Everyone will want one.
