Introducing Charlie – a new member of our family. He is a Beagle and 10 weeks old (we’ve had him for a couple of weeks now). He is the cutest and the naughtiest puppy ever. And we love him! There is lots of training to be done, as his favourite play time activity at the moment is to bite the ankles of anyone he can. Actually, bite anything he can reach. He is my first ever puppy (I’ve grown up with cats), so it has been a new and interesting experience so far. I do enjoy having a dog though, and I’m looking forward to taking him for walks on a lead and having a nice play time, once he has learnt all he needs to!
Do you have a dog? Any advice?
He's adorable!!! I love beagles (never had one though).
ReplyDeleteUmmm... Never smack with your hand - always use a rolled up newspaper (Keep one handy and rolled with a rubber band around it). This will help him understand that hands are used to show love.
When teaching him to come when he's called, have a handfull of small puppy treats in your pocket, and give him one. Make it a bit of a game. They love to please you.
I had a spoodle - and he was really easy to train. Seems like a lifetime ago. Must think about getting a pet for the boys when S is a bit older. :)
Happy training - and most of all, have fun! :)

ReplyDeleteWhen i was a little girl,my uncle had a dog and i liked to play with him.The puppy's name was Schwarz(it means black in German, because he was black).I remember he liked chocolate and cherries very much))
But most of all i love parrots, and on Sunday we bought two parrots as a birthday present for my elder daughter Nelja(she is five). We called our parrots Flick and Persy.
