scavenger hunt bag

Last weekend we celebrated my niece’s 4th birthday and I made her a scavenger hunt bag from “Growing up Sew Liberated” book.

I think it turned out nice. The pattern called for medium-to-heavyweight cotton, but I only had regular cotton in my stash. So, I added another layer between the outer and lining layers, sort of like sew-in interfacing. I think it worked well. The pattern itself was relatively easy, except for the annoying curved gusset, which I ended up deviating from instructions and setting as I would a sleeve on a shirt.

I haven’t been motivated to sew for a while and this was a nice project to return to my sewing machine for.
