I started this skirt earlier this year and I made most of it, with only the hem remaining to finish. I got caught up in other projects and kind of forgot about the skirt. Then I came across The Skirt Week competition on the Crafterhours blog and I suddenly got the required motivation to finish it.
The pictures are not the best due to me putting the final touches on the skirt on the final day of the entries and thus missing out on sunlight to take proper photos. We’ve all been unwell in the house, and sewing was not a priority. But I finished it, took those not so pretty pictures and entered the skirt in time.
And to my astonishment my skirt made it into the top 10!!! The voting is currently open, so go and have a look at those lovely skirts.
My skirt is made with a pattern from Burda 2/2005 issue (Ukrainian edition). I used some lovely raspberry red corduroy that I got from my grandma’s stash (she used to work as a professional dressmaker). The skirt is fully lined and has an invisible zip on the left hand side seam. It was an easy skirt to make. I really like how the godet panels perfect the fit of the skirt and add a lovely flared design at the hem.
Looks great Yana!
