So I have been scrapbooking! Not my usual preferred activity, but I actually enjoyed it. I guess it’s because I was gluing all the pretty outfits that are my inspiration for my own handmade wardrobe. (How beautiful is that shirt???)
I recently decided that I would like to make sewing clothes my main craft activity. As much as I enjoy sewing toys or other items, embroidery, crochet, I really LOVE making clothes. Making this a priority now means I can make better decisions on how I spend my craft time and what I spend my money on.
Hence, the scrapbooking. Fashion mags are going to be cut and the items or colours that inspire me will be glued into my Wardrobe book. I will also have a section where I draw various clothes on a croquis (based on my actual body) and plan my sewing projects. I will do another post about the croquis.
As you can see, my gluing session is not over. There is a whole pile of dresses in that pocket that needs to find home in my wardrobe book. But the pile will have to wait, as tomorrow morning (bright and early Saturday start at 7:30) I am off to some fabric shops with my friends. Very excited and looking forward to all the fabrics I may find.
What are your plans for the weekend?
That shirt is fabulous Yana :) I hope we can find fabric for it tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I often rip things out of magazines... but then they just get popped in a Magazine box and hope they get referred to again!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I had my Bro and his fam here... & I've been running around like a crazy chick trying to get everything read for a little "we're about to have a baby and go into hibernation" party.
