leaf coasters

Last weekend I went to a Bridal Shower and I made these non-stick leaf coasters for the lovely bride-to-be.

I was inspired by these coasters I saw on Pinterest. I drew my own leaf template and then sewed the felt onto a non-slip mat I had at home. I then free-hand "quilted” the leaf veins. (I also had a layer of thin paper underneath the non-slip mat so it wouldn’t stick to the machine while I was sewing the layers together)

I was quite happy with the result and I think she liked them.
