my monsters

Introducing my new family of Monsters - aren't they cute? Yep, they are because they were designed by the very talented Katia of Plushka and were made by following very good instructions.

I was very delighted when Katia asked me to test out her Monsters pattern & kit. When I first saw the Monsters on Katia's blog I fell in love! I am not a fan of monster toys in general, but those were way too cute. I think I really liked the lovely smiles, the big eyes with eyelashes and the bright colours. I wanted them for myself! I got even more excited when I found out that the Monsters were going to come out as a PDF pattern and could also be purchased as a kit. So to be asked to test out the pattern was a big deal!

The kit that Katia sent contained everything I needed to make all 3 monsters and I still have materials left over to use for something else (note: stuffing is not included, but that's to be expected). And the pattern itself is great. The photos in the instructions are so good that you don't really need to read the text, very self-explanatory. But, if you are not sure about something, the text explains all the steps as well. Great comprehensive instructions. This particular pattern also allows you to customise some of the features, like the placement of the spots, or adding some braids, etc.

I had lot's of fun making the Monsters. I am not sure if I can let the kids play with them.... very tempted to just sit them on the shelf and admire. I would highly recommend this and other Katia's patterns to try. The end result is sure to be a satisfactory one.

If you would like to follow the rest of the blog tour and see all the other lovely creations made from Katia's patters, here are the details:

8th of March - Megan making a Mimi Bird
12th of March - Yana (me) making the Monsters
15th of March - Sarah making a Cat
22nd of March - Jess making a Cat

(note: this post was not sponsored; above are my honest thoughts about testing out the pattern & the kit)
