It's half way through January already and I thought I better make some sewing plans for the year. Over the Christmas/birthday period I was lucky to get eight (!) new sewing patterns.
Megan Nielsen top is already in production and the Sewaholic Minoru is next. I already bought all the supplies and even pre-washed the fabric! The McCall's dress will be in construction soon as well as I think I may have some fabric in stash suitable for it. The rest of the lovely patterns may have to wait until #2 has made an appearance (only about 7 weeks left!!). I also have some other lovely patterns that I haven't had a chance to try yet, so they are going on my list as well (I keep a written list in my sewing book that is more detailed; ).
Among the patterns and other lovely gifts, I got these Fashionary Journals. They are awesome!!! There are about 30 pages of dressmaking and fashion related information, and the rest of the journal has faint lines of figure templates for drawing clothes designs (they also have the figure templates available for download). The red one is a female version and the grey one is male. I can't wait to start using them. I may even come up with an original design! (LOL)
I also have some quilting, crochet and general craft plans. It's looking like a busy crafting year ahead and I hope I can just dive into it and not procrastinate as much as I am known to do. I will also try to document my progress here, to keep myself accountable and be part of this lovely sewing/crafting community.
I love those Fashionary journals! Looking forward seeing your creations from those patterns. (Only 7 weeks!!! How exciting!)
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be very busy :)
ReplyDeleteHi I'm your latest follower! :) The Minoru is a great pattern, I made one last year and I think I might make some changes and make another sometime this year. Looking forward to seeing what you create from your other patterns (yes, after bubs is born, exciting!)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have the year off to a great start! :) Get as much done as you can before baby arrives, you won't have as much time afterwards (well, I don't anyway...I'm pretty busy with 3!) Can't wait to see your first top!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your finished Megan Nielsen top! I had been eyeing these off as they look like great maternity patterns.
